French Pete Trail

The French Pete Trail is a hiking trail in the valley of French Pete Creek in the Three Sisters Wilderness of western Oregon.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gDfxMDT8MwRydLA1cj72BTJw8jAwjQL8h2VAQAzHJMsQ!!/?navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&recid=4367&actid=&navid=110000000000000&pnavid=&ss=110618&position=&ttype=recarea&pname=Willamette%20National%20Forest%20-%20French%20Pete%20Campground )〕 The trail passes through low-elevation old-growth forest that was a nationwide political issue in the 1960s and 1970s because of conflicting plans for logging and for wilderness designation, respectively. In 1978, the U.S. Congress passed a bill adding the French Pete area to the Three Sisters Wilderness.
